Marie-Ève Martin of the women’s basketball team and Olivier Hinse of the men’s hockey team have been named Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 29.
Martin, a fourth-year shooting guard, was a key contributor in Concordia’s 69-34 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters last Saturday. She led all scorers in the game with 23 points and eight rebounds. Her totals include four three-pointers.
A 26-year-old native of Granby, Que., Martin is an Arts student at Concordia.
Hinse, a fourth-year forward and team captain, picked up two goals in a 7-1 victory over the Brock Badgers last Friday and he scored all three goals in a 4-3 loss to the York Lions on Saturday. He was also named to the CIS all-star team that will meet the Canadian junior team in Toronto in mid-December.
The 24-year-old student from Sherbrooke, Que. is in the Child Studies program.
