QB Trenton Miller named football team MVP

Quarterback Trenton Miller was presented the Warrior Trophy as the MVP of the Concordia Stingers football team at its annual banquet held at Molson Breweries on Saturday evening.

A native of Buffalo, N.Y. who joined the Stingers in 2015, Miller participated in all eight regular season games and started in the final six games. He completed 204 of 309 passes (66.0%) for 2384 yards and 20 touchdowns. He threw just eight interceptions. Miller led the conference in four statistical categories – passing attempts, completions, yards and touchdowns.

Miller was presented the Jeff Russel Memorial Trophy as the outstanding player in the RSEQ football conference in November. He was also named to the league’s all-star team.Other award winners were:

  • George Dixon Trophy – Outstanding Offensive Player – SB Daniel Skube
  • Russ Blackwell Memorial Trophy – Most Dedicated Player – LB Arto Khatchikian
  • Hal McCarney Trophy– Outstanding Offensive Lineman – OG Roman Grozman
  • Hal McCarney Trophy – Outstanding Defensive Lineman – DT Sam Narkaj
  • Pat Davis Trophy – Outstanding Rookie on Offence – WR Yanic Lessard
  • Pat Davis Trophy – Outstanding Rookie of Defence – DB Vincent Séguin
  • Peter Regimbald Trophy – Special Teams Player of the Year – K Keegan Treloar
  • Ricky Zieba Award – Best Work Ethic – DB Alexandre Renaud
  • Larry Cullen Jr. Memorial Award – Sportsmanship – QB Colin Sequiera
  • Ed Meagher Award – Best combines academics, athletics and community sevice – LB Jeremy Pelletier
  • Gerry McGrath Award – Most Improved Player – SB Anthony Aubry
Tradition dictates that graduating seniors get to address the crowd. Saying their goodbyes were: SB Jamal Henry, WR Kyle Santana, CB Rashawn Perry, WR Ted Greffen, LB Arto Khatchikian, LB Dane Steele, DE Jessy Ross Thompson and K Keegan Treloar.
