Slotback Vince Alessandrini to suit up for Stingers

The Stingers football program is pleased to announce talented Vanier College receiver Vince Alessandrini has decided to pursue his football career and studies at Concordia University.

“Vince is a natural,” said Mike Harrington, the Stingers’ receiver coach. “He has a good frame, he runs well and runs good routes. What I like most is that he blocks well and it’s hard to find receivers who do that. He also has a great attitude and a little swagger. I’m excited about working with him.”

With the Vanier Cheetahs in 2015, Alessandrini had 25 receptions for 408 yards and three touchdowns. He was an RSEQ all-star at Laval Liberty High School in 2012 and won a gold medal at the Canada Cup as a member of Team Québec in 2013.

“I play with a lot of pride and I hate to lose,” Alessandrini said. “I like to set an example for my teammates.

“I decided to attend Concordia because there are a lot of Vanier teammates here and I know it’s going to good to be back on the field these guys,” he said. “Of course, as a receiver I want to play with a great quarterback. I want to play with Trenton Miller.”

The Stingers report to training camp in mid-August and kick off the season on the road at McGill on Friday, Sept. 2.
