Frédérique Rajotte of the women’s rugby team and Karl Gouabe of the men’s soccer team have been named Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Sept. 18.
Rajotte, a fourth-year centre, was the game MVP in a 102-3 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters last Friday. She scored four tries in the one-sided game played in Lennoxville, Que. In three games this season, she has scored seven tries for the Stingers.
A 22-year-old native of Markham, Ont., Rajotte is a Communications student at Concordia.
Gouabe, a rookie goalkeeper, is the Male Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive time. He made five saves on seven shots to help keep the Stingers close in a game versus the UQTR Patriotes last Friday. The opponents eventually won 2-0.
The 23-year-old student from Yaoundé, Cameroon, is working on a degree in Communications.
