Basketball's Beaulieu, Fosu on RSEQ all-star teams

Veterans Ken Beaulieu and Mike Fosu led the way for the Concordia Stingers when the RSEQ announced its men’s basketball all-star teams today.

Beaulieu, a third-year forward, has been named to the first all-star team. It is the third straight league honor for the native of Longueuil, Que. He was also a first team honoree in 2016 and, in his rookie season, he was named to the second team.

He finished sixth in league scoring with 11.7 points a game. Beaulieu was third in rebounding with an average of seven a game. He also had 29 steals for a 1.9 average which was fourth in the conference.

Fosu, the Stingers’ fifth-year big man, earns his first conference honour. He was a second team selection. He averaged 8.7 points and 4.6 rebounds a game. He was the best free-throw shooter in the RSEQ going 36 of 42 (.857) from the line.

Two Stingers were named to the all-rookie team – guards Nicky Noble of Ville St. Pierre, Que. and Montrealer Henderson Charles.

Noble played 26.4 minutes a game and averaged eight points and 2.6 rebounds. Henderson played 19.9 minutes on average and was good for 6.3 points and 3.9 rebounds a game.

The Stingers will meet the UQAM Citadins in the men’s semifinals at the RSEQ Final 4 on Friday at 8:30 p.m. at the Pierre Charbonneau Centre. For ticket information, visit the tournament website at http://finale4rseq.ca.
