Ashley Moss of the women’s basketball team and Anthony Beauregard of the men’s hockey team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 22.
Moss, a forward now in her second season with the Stingers, had an exceptional weekend. She helped her team pick up two non-conference wins in Ontario. Last Friday she scored eight points and picked up 19 rebounds in a 65-59 victory over the Laurier Golden Hawks. The following day she recorded a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds in a 74-45 win over the Guelph Gryphons.
A 26-year-old native of Nassau, Bahamas, Moss is working on a Certificate in Business.
Beauregard, a forward in his second year with the Stingers, collected four goals in two games on the weekend. He scored a hat trick in 5-3 win over the Brock Badgers last Friday. The next day he also scored a goal to help the Stingers down the Guelph Gryphons 4-2. He is Concordia’s leading scorer with six points in four games this season.
The 21-year-old student from St. Damase, Que., is working on a Certificate in Arts and Science.
