Audrey Belzile of the women's hockey team and Moritz Wittmann of the men's rugby team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 4.
Belzile, a third-year forward, was instrumental in helping the Stingers sweep two games on the weekend. She collected a goal and an assist in Concordia’s 2-1 victory over the No. 1-ranked Montréal Carabins. Two days later she scored the game winning goal in a 5-1 win over the Carleton Ravens.
A 21-year-old native of St. Hyacinthe, Que., Belzile is an International Business student at Concordia.
Wittmann, a fourth-year fly half, played a key role in Concordia’s 17-0 victory over the Sherbrooke Vert & Or in the RSEQ seminfinals last Saturday. He kicked a drop goal to help the Stingers build their lead to 10-0 in the 48th minute of play. He was named Concordia’s game MVP.
The 22-year-old student from Zurich, Switzerland. is working towards a degree in English at Concordia.
