Aurélie d'Anjou Drouin, Charles Debove - Athletes of the Week

Aurélie d'Anjou Drouin of the women's basketball team and Charles Debove of the men's rugby team have been named the Subway-Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Nov. 25.

D’Anjou Drouin, a fifth-year shooting guard, made a big impact in two victories last week. Coming off the bench and playing just 15 minutes she was perfect making all six of her shots, including two three-pointers. Her 14 points helped the Stingers defeat the McGill Martlets 77-63 last Thursday. Two days later she had 18 points and five rebounds in a 72-52 victory over the undefeated Bishop’s Gaiters.

A 24-year-old native of Lévis, Que., d’Anjou Drouin is an Electrical Engineering student.

Debove, a fourth-year centre, was a key contributor to Concordia’s strong performance at the Canadian University Men’s Rugby Championship last week. His strong play helped the Stingers finish fourth in the nation. He was named a Man of the Match in Concordia’s tough 34-21 loss to the Victoria Vikes in the bronze medal game. He was also the sole Stingers named to the championship all-star team.

The 24-year-old student from Nice, France, is working towards a degree in Psychology at Concordia.
