Stingers headline women's hockey doubleheader

The Concordia Stingers will headline an afternoon of elite women’s hockey action featuring the top teams from the university and Canadian Women’s Hockey League levels at the Ed Meagher Arena this Sunday.

Fans can enjoy the quality and excitement of the highest calibre of women’s hockey when the Stingers host the top-ranked McGill Martlets at 3:30 p.m. and the Montreal Stars battle the Brampton Thunder at 12:30 p.m. 

First the Stars, who currently sit in first place in the CWHL, meet their Brampton, Ont. counterparts. Montreal has won three games and lost one against the Thunder this season. The Stars boast a high-powered offence that features four of the top five scorers in the league.

Concordia will meet the Martlets, who are the No. 1-ranked team in the CIS and are undefeated in 17 RSEQ games this season. McGill has won all four meetings between the teams, but the games have been tight, including 4-2 on Nov. 29 and 3-1 on Jan. 26.

Tickets are $10 for both games and will be available at the door.
