Myre, Hotton - PJ's Pub Athletes of the Week

Kayla Myre of the women's soccer team and Lucas Hotton of the men’s rugby team have been named the PJ’s Pub Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 5.

Myre, a fourth-year midfielder, was instrumental in helping the Stingers pick up a tie and a win last week. She was a consistent offensive threat in a 2-1 victory over the UQTR Patriotes last Friday. Two days later, she was named the game MVP in 0-0 draw with the Bishop’s Gaiters. The strong showing helped the Stingers move into fourth-place in the RSEQ standings.

A 23-year-old native of St. Hubert, Que., Myre is in the Child Studies program at Concordia.

Hotton, a rookie flanker, was a key player in Concordia’s 22-7 victory over the Montréal Carabins on Sunday. He was a force to reckon with on offence and defence. He also led the team in stolen balls. The win helped the Stingers wrap up the first half of the season with a 3-1 win-loss record and sole possession of first place in the RSEQ conference.

The 21-year-old student from Montreal is in general studies at Concordia.
