Katie Sheahan with a parting gift

A farewell from director Katie Sheahan

After 10 action-packed years as Director of Recreation and Athletics at Concordia University, Katie Sheahan is retiring. She shares a few thoughts as she wraps up her time at the university.

It is with thanks that I write to you on the eve of my retirement.  My 10 years as Director of Recreation and Athletics have been rich with challenges and opportunities, and among the greatest pleasures has been serving you – our community.

To the students, staff and faculty, alumni and our neighbors, I wish to express my deep appreciation to you for your support, for enrolling in our programs and for coming out and cheering on the Concordia Stingers.  It has been our pleasure to serve you!

Vice-President Services, Roger Côté, has named Melanie Drew, Director of Health Services, as the interim Director of Recreation and Athletics while the process to recruit the next director takes place.  Melanie’s co-ordinates can be found on our website along with the contact information of all our staff team members.

In closing, I want to encourage you to continue to be a part of the Recreation and Athletics family.  Stay tuned over the summer for news of our fall programs and events.  Get active, like us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter and catch us on YouTube.

Go Stingers!

Katie
