Concordia Campus Recreation crowned its 2010 intramural hockey champions last month at the Ed Meagher Arena on the Loyola campus.
Each of the five divisions wrapped up the playoffs with a two-game championship series April 10-11.
In Division 1 action, Team Jonathan Bauer won the title with a convincing two-game sweep over Voodoo. Team Bauer, the fourth-place team in the regular season, won the first game 2-1 and followed up with a 5-2 victory in Game 2.
In the opening round of the playoffs, Team Bauer upended the three-time defending champions DOA who were undefeated in 18 regular season games.
Club 7310 won its second straight Division 2 championship and its third title in four years, defeating the Plumbers in an intense series. Defence and goaltending were showcased in games that saw a 3-3 tie and a 2-1 victory for Club 7310. The Plumbers finished in first place in the regular season, while Club 7310 was the third-place team.
First-place Practice Squad was the strongest entry in Division 3 competition. They defeated third-place Team 50 by scores of 6-5 and 4-3 to win the title.
In a surprising turn of events sixth-place Ukie Club met the eighth-place Bullets in the Division 4 championship series. Ukie Club won both playoff games by 2-1 scores. The Bullets upset the first-place Avengers and the second-place Red Army in the opening rounds of playoffs. However, Ukie Club demonstrated clutch goaltending, stingy defence and timely scoring to prevent the talented Bullets from making history.
The third-place Weekend Warriors won the Division 5 championship by beating fifth-place Eca Exports by scores of 6-4 and 3-1 in a highly-entertaining two-game final series.
