Seydou Junior Haidara joined the Concordia football staff as the receiver coach in March of 2019. His professional attitude and experience, and his success at every level made him the perfect fit for the Stingers.
Haidara was a wide receiver at Champlain College, Lennoxville, during his cégep days. He was a two-time RSEQ all-star and he was the circuit’s outstanding player on offence in 2007. He joined the Laval Rouge et Or in 2009 and went on to win Vanier Cup championships in 2010 and 2012.
Originally from Quebec City, the star receiver moved across the country to start his CFL career with the British Columbia Lions, who selected him in the second round (12th overall) in the 2013 draft. After his first season, the Lions named him their rookie of the year.
He would play six seasons in the CFL with B.C., the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and he wrapped up his professional career in 2018 with the Montreal Alouettes.
A multi-talented individual he officially launched a scriptwriting career in 2020, co-writing the television show Une Sorte de Guérilla. Shortly after, he undertook the co-writing of another television show - Mooniyang developed by Avenue Productions.
He graduated from Université Laval with a bachelor’s degree in Sports Intervention.
