Sports Hall of Fame Inductee
Maureen Maloney

Inducted in 2015 as an Athlete
Institution: Concordia
One of the best all-round women's hockey players, Maureen Maloney brought many elements to the Concordia Stingers throughout her four-year career. The tenacious forward was a relentless mucker, a formidable scorer and a respected leader.
The consummate team player, Maloney was known for digging pucks out of the corners and setting up her teammates with her exceptional playmaking skills. She spent most of her career playing forward where she averaged two points a game, but she spent one season on the blue-line to help the team improve its play in the defensive zone. As a senior, she was one of the Stinger captains. She was named her team's MVP in each of her last two years and was Concordia's Female Athlete of the Year in 1984.
Maloney's presence on the Stingers' roster helped the team win three Quebec Women's Intercollegiate Hockey League titles in four years.
She also contributed to the department by sitting on its women's athletic council.
Maloney graduated with a BA, double major in Psychology and Recreation. She went on to enjoy a successful career in her field of study.
