David Cerasuolo joins women's soccer staff

Jorge Sanchez, head coach of the Concordia Stingers women’s soccer team, is pleased to announce David Cerasuolo has joined his coaching staff.

Cerasuolo, a native of Laval, Que., was a key member of the Stingers men’s team for three seasons, beginning in 2008. He finished his career as team captain and was given the Outstanding Sportsman Award by the Quebec conference in recognition of his leadership last fall.

"David brings a new and different voice along with a dynamic approach to the coaching staff,” Sanchez said. “He will provide a fresh perspective for the players and draw on his experience as a Stinger athlete to guide the players on how to train and prepare for the demands of varsity soccer."

The Management student has an extensive soccer background as a player, administrator and coach.

A defender/midfielder, he played AAA youth soccer with the Laval Conquerants and Lac St. Louis Lakers. Most recently, he played at the senior AAA level with Chomedey and Kirkland United. He coaches with the Monteuil Soccer Club where he led the U16 AAA girls team to a provincial gold medal and national silver medal in 2010.

He is also the assistant technical director with the club.
