Claudia Dubois of the women’s hockey team and James Tyrrell of the football team are the Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 18.
Dubois, a rookie forward, made a big splash in her RSEQ debut. She scored the first goal of the game in a 2-1 upset victory over the No. 1-ranked Montreal Carabins last Friday. She scored another goal in a 4-2 win over the Ottawa Gee-Gees on Sunday. The victories give the Stingers an impressive 2-0 start to the regular season. The coaching staff praised Dubois for her efforts calling her play dominant and pointing out her work forcing turnovers and on the power play.
