Concordia Stingers women's hockey alumna Émilie Lavoie has taken the next step in her hockey journey, being selected by the Montréal Victoire in the sixth round, 72nd overall, of the 2026 PWHL Draft held Thursday in Detroit.
Lavoie leaves Concordia following a decorated five-year career that established her as one of the program's most accomplished student-athletes. During her time with the Stingers, she helped lead the team to two U SPORTS National Championships, two U SPORTS silver medals, and four RSEQ championships.
Her impact was felt from the moment she arrived on campus. In her rookie season, Lavoie was named the RSEQ Rookie of the Year and earned a spot on the conference's All-Rookie Team. She continued to build on that success throughout her career, earning RSEQ Second Team All-Star honours in both 2022-23 and 2023-24 before being named a First Team All-Star in 2025-26. This past season, she was also recognized nationally as a U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian.
In her final season, Lavoie showcased her versatility by making the transition from forward to defence. The move proved to be a seamless one, as she excelled on the blue line while continuing to contribute offensively. She finished the 2025-26 campaign with six goals and 15 assists for 21 points, while posting a +16 rating.
Known for her athleticism, hockey IQ, and ability to impact the game in all three zones, Lavoie now joins the reigning Walter Cup champion Montréal Victoire as she begins her professional career.
The entire Concordia community congratulates Émilie on this outstanding achievement and wishes her continued success at the professional level.
