Rookie forward Claudia Dubois of Chicoutimi, Que. scored four goals and added two assists to lead the Concordia Stingers to a 12-0 victory over the UPEI Panthers on the opening day of the 48th annual Theresa Humes women’s hockey tournament this afternoon.
Other winners were the Dalhousie Tigers who downed the Laurentian Voyageurs 4-3 in overtime, the Plattsburgh State Cardinals who defeated the Carleton Ravens 3-1 and the Ottawa Gee-Gees with a 4-1 victory over the. St. FX X-Women.
The Stingers out shot the Panthers 44-8 in the game. Also picking up multiple goals were Keriann Schofield with two and Tracy-Ann Lavigne with two goals and two assists. Claudia Fortin, also a rookie, picked up a goal and four assists for five points.
Goaltender Frédérike Berger-Lebel recorded the shutout for the Stingers.
Concordia will face Dalhousie on Sunday at 1 p.m. and Plattsburgh on Monday at 1 p.m. Both games will take place at the Ed Meagher Arena, 7200 Sherbrooke St. W.Sunday’s Schedule:
