Rajotte, Tessier to represent Canada at rugby super series

Concordia Stingers all-Canadians Frédérique Rajotte and Alex Tessier have been named to the 26-player Canadian squad for the Women’s Rugby Super Series in Salt Lake City, Utah next month.

François Ratier, the head coach of the national team and an assistant with the Stingers’ program, made the announcement.

“It's an opportunity for our senior team to continue on the road to the 2017 Women’s Rugby World Cup,” said Ratier.

Tessier of Ste. Clotilde de Horton, Que. was also with last year’s team. Rajotte, the Markham, Ont. native who was the Quebec university MVP last season, will make her debut with the senior national team.

Canada’s schedule at the super series is as follows:

July 1 vs. England – 5 p.m.

July 5 vs. USA – 7 p.m.

July 9 vs. France – 3 p.m.
