Fourth-year Hannah Booler has won the RSEQ Leadership & Community Award and five women’s rugby student-athletes were named RSEQ 2nd Team All-Stars.
Booler, from Beaconsfield and in her fourth year studying kinesiology, won the RSEQ Leadership & Community Award due to her outstanding commitment to volunteer work. This includes organizing BIPOC women's rugby training sessions as a way to encourage BIPOC girls aged 12-18 to get involved in the sport and learn about rugby. She also volunteered as a coach for the U18 St-Anne-de-Bellevue rugby club and helped organize the U14-18 Rugby Quebec ID camp, as well as providing physiotherapy screening for athletes with disabilities at the Special Olympics.
Booler also volunteered around Concordia as a strength and conditioning coach with Stingers football, providing technical feedback and tips during winter workouts in the weight room.
Fullback Madeleine McTavish, winger Emma Marshall, prop Steve Kalaydjian, 2nd row Nicole Amaral, and centre Catherine Ann Blenkhorn were all named to the RSEQ 2nd All-Star Team.
McTavish played in all 6 games this season, scoring two tries and 12 conversions, while Kalaydjian scored 5 tries in 6 games.
