Alex Tessier, Frédérique Rajotte and Jenna Thompson were named to the 2016 RSEQ women’s rugby all-star team announced by the conference this morning.
Tessier, a fourth-year centre from Ste. Clothilde de Horton, Que., appears on the conference honour roll for the third straight season. In seven games she scored two tries and connected for three converts to help the Stingers finish in third place with a 5-2 win-loss record.
Rajotte, also a fourth-year centre, earns her second RSEQ all-star honour. The Markham, Ont. resident scored 11 tries in seven games.
Thompson, a third-year No. 8 from Ste. Anne de Bellevue, Que., earns her first all-star recognition. She was the leading scorer on the Stingers with 12 tries for 60 points in seven games.
The Stingers will travel to Quebec City to meet the second-place Laval Rouge et Or (6-1) on Saturday. The RSEQ semifinal game gets under way at 1 p.m.
