Head coach Julie Chu is pleased to announce Emmy Fecteau, the captain of the powerhouse Limoilou Titans, has committed to the Concordia Stingers women's hockey program.
"Emmy is a top Cégep player whose offensive abilities make her a threat every time she is on the ice,” Chu said. “Each year she gets better and better because of her desire to learn and her consistent work ethic.
“We are thrilled to get such a talented player to join our Stingers family.”
The forward from St. Odilon, Que. has an impressive hockey resumé. She’s been invited to Hockey Canada’s development camp and represented Quebec at national championships in 2015 and 2016.
At the Cégep level, Fecteau won RSEQ championships in 2017 and 2018. Last season she was the second leading scorer in the Quebec college conference with 21 goals and 22 assists for 43 points in 24 games. She was also a first team all-star in 2018.
In February of 2017 she received a bursary for academic excellence from the Fondation de l’athlète d’excellence du Québec and the Montreal Canadiens.
“I chose Concordia because it felt great right from the moment I entered the facilities,” said the 19-year-old. “I really like the fact that the team comes before everything. The coaching staff is also amazing. I like how they think. I know that they can help me improve myself as a person and as a hockey player.”
Fecteau will join the Stingers in the fall of 2019.
