The Concordia Stingers men's basketball team will go into the U SPORTS Final 8 championship in Halifax March 8-10 as the No. 6 seed.
Concordia will meet the Ryerson Rams, the OUA finalists, in the quarterfinals. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET on March 8 at the Scotiabank Centre.
“It’s going to be a good experience for us,” said head coach Rastko Popvic. “It’s where we thought we’d be. Ryerson is a very athletic team, a lot like UQAM only taller. It will be a very different contrast in play between us and them.”
This is the first time since 2012 that the Stingers have reached the Final 8 tournament. That year they entered the fray as the No. 3 seed.
