Joseph named to All-Canadian team, men's basketball earn Nationals wildcard berth

Men’s basketball will be going to the U SPORTS National Championship as the 8th seed.

The 2025 Indochino U SPORTS Final 8 will take place at UBC in Vancouver from March 13-16.

The Stingers will face the top-seeded Ottawa Gee-Gees in the quarterfinals. Men’s basketball finished the season with a 14-2 record and 28 points. They beat Ottawa in an exhibition game on Jan. 4 by a final score of 80-70.

Concordia guards Junior Mercy and Jaheem Joseph were ranked 3rd and 4th in scoring in the RSEQ, averaging 14.1 and 13.9 points per game, respectively. Joseph was named a 2nd team All-Canadian at the Final 8 awards banquet on March 12 in Vancouver.

Forward Ba-Amara Djame finished in 6th place in the RSEQ in rebounds with an average of 6.4 per game. Centre Karam Sahly finished 3rd in field goal percentage averaging .548, and guard Alec Phaneuf was 1st in assists with an average of 4.4 per game, and 2nd in steals with a 1.8 per game average.
