The Concordia Stingers men’s basketball team delivered a statement win on the road, defeating the McGill Redbirds 91–41 to bring the Lengvari Cup back to Concordia.
The Stingers controlled the game from start to finish at Love Competition Hall, locking in defensively and spreading the offence across the lineup. Victor Bonsu led the way with 15 points and four rebounds, while Sami Jahan added 13 points and four assists. Jaheem Joseph chipped in 13 points and five rebounds in the balanced effort.
Tyrell Lamar Williams made his long-awaited return to game action after missing a year with injury and wasted no time making an impact. The forward was a perfect 4-for-4 from the field, finishing with 10 points, three rebounds and a block in just 12 minutes of play.
In a complete team performance, every Stinger who dressed recorded at least two points in the victory.
With the win, Concordia improves to 6-8 on the season and sits third in the RSEQ standings. The Stingers will look to build on the momentum when they host top-ranked Bishop’s on Thursday at 8 p.m.
