Supporters donate more than $150,000 to Stingers teams on Giving Tuesday

Director of Recreation and Athletics D'Arcy Ryan is proud to announce nearly 400 donors rose to the challenge and contributed an astounding $157,000 to Concordia Stingers programs on Giving Tuesday.

“This was the first time we participated in this initiative, and we are overwhelmed by your generosity,” Ryan said. “You have given our coaches and athletes an extraordinary lift in these challenging times. Your support will allow our teams to address some of their most pressing needs and our university to offer student-athletes the best experience and resources possible.”

Special thanks go to George Lengvari, Marcel Elefant and the anonymous donors who offered matching gifts, adding some excitement to the day and encouraging others with their generosity.

The Stingers’ success is greatly aided by the support of countless alumni, fans and family. All the donations, volunteer hours and encouragement at games throughout the year is deeply appreciated.

The Concordia coaches and student-athletes continue to prepare for when they can safely compete and look forward to the day we can all be together again. They will continue to work hard and to make everyone proud of their association with the Stingers.

The department’s FundOne page will remain open to accept gifts through Dec. 31. All gifts are eligible for charitable tax receipts. You can visit it HERE .
