RSEQ releases full schedule for university football teams

After almost two years away from the gridiron, the Concordia Stingers football team is excited to return to action this fall and to share its 2021 football schedule.

The RSEQ unveiled its university timetable this afternoon, featuring a traditional eight-game schedule over 10 weeks. Each Quebec team will play its four opponents once at home and once on the road. As well, each team will have two bye weeks.

Four of the five Quebec teams will advance to the playoffs, and those semifinals games will be held Nov. 6. The Dunsmore Cup championship will take place Nov. 13. The RSEQ champions will host the Mitchell Bowl, welcoming the Canada West champions on Nov. 27. The Vanier Cup national final is scheduled for Dec. 4.

The Stingers will begin the season with a bye and then host the Laval Rouge et Or on Sept. 4 at 2 p.m. in a game that will be televised by TVA.

The Stingers plan to open training camp in the first half of August.

Fan access to games and ticket sales have not been determined at this point. The Department of Recreation and Athletics will continue to follow health and safety regulations determined by the provincial government and the university’s Environmental Health & Safety office.
