Defensive back Mendel Joseph, defensive lineman Emilio Vidali, and kicker/punter Eric Maximuik were named 2024 RSEQ All-Stars.
Joseph led the RSEQ this season in interceptions (4) and pass breakups (6). In 8 games, he made 21 solo tackles and 11 assists for a total of 26.5 tackles. The second-year DB also scored a defensive touchdown against Sherbrooke on Oct. 5, which earned him the title of RSEQ Defensive Player of the Week.
Vidali finished the season with 1 sack, 9 solo tackles, 10 assists, 3 tackles for loss for a total of 14 tackles.
This is Maximuik’s second year in a row earning a spot on the All-Star team as a punter. He led the conference with 2297 yards in 55 punts, averaging 41.8 yards/punt, with his longest punt reaching 62 yards. Maximuik also kicked a 56-yard field goal this season, setting a new record in the RSEQ for the longest field goal. This feat earned him the title of RSEQ Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 30.
Mendel is studying Human Sciences, Vidali is in his third year in Recreation and Leisure Studies, and Maximuik is completing a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration.
