Are you ready for some playoff hockey?

The Concordia Stingers will have home-ice advantage when they face the Montréal Carabins in the opening round of the RSEQ women's hockey playoffs, beginning Thursday night at the Ed Meagher Arena.

The best-of-three semifinal series moves to Montréal on Saturday at 2 p.m. Game 3, if necessary, will be back home Sunday at 3 p.m.

Concordia, currently the No. 3-ranked team in the country, wrapped up the regular season in second place in the RSEQ with an 11-3-1-0 record and 23 points in 15 games. Montréal finished in third place with an 8-5-0-2 record and 18 points.

This year, the teams have already met for a total of seven preseason and conference games with Concordia winning five of them. The Stingers won three of four regular season contests.

Despite the favorable stats and high ranking, Concordia won’t soon forget being upset in the semifinals by the Carabins in 2020. That was the last time playoffs took place since the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the entire 2020-21 season.
