Stevens-Cardin from national champion Cheetahs commits to Concordia soccer

Head coach Greg Sutton is pleased to announce Anna Bianca Stevens-Cardin, a highly decorated goalkeeper from the national champion Vanier Cheetahs, has committed to the Concordia Stingers women's soccer program.

“Bianca has a great résumé at the college level and we expect it will translate well at the university level,” Sutton said. “She is a well-rounded goalkeeper that has a great personality to help lead a team from the back. We are excited to have her join our program and expect her to contribute right away.”

In her final season at the Cégep level with the Cheetahs, Stevens-Cardin was named the RSEQ’s top goalkeeper and to the conference all-star team. At the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association championship last November, Vanier did not give up a goal en route to the gold medal and she was named to the tournament all-star team.

Stevens-Cardin, a Montrealer who will study Computer Science at Concordia, is also a star in the classroom. She earned an entrance scholarship at Vanier College, has been on the dean’s list and was recognized with a RSEQ academic award in 2021.

“I chose Concordia because the school offers an excellent Computer Science program and the opportunity of co-op,” said Stevens-Cardin. “I’ve also heard great things about the student body. As for the Stingers, I chose to join the women’s soccer team because I believe I will be a great addition and I will have the opportunity to continue improving.”
