Stingers add skilled midfielder to women's soccer recruiting class

Head coach Greg Sutton is pleased to announce midfielder Claudia Lepenna from the national champion Vanier Cheetahs has committed to the Concordia Stingers women's soccer program.

"Claudia is a skilled and technical midfielder which will help us control the game in difficult moments and add real value to our midfield core," said Sutton. "She reads the game well and has a great track record of success."

Lapenna has developed her skills with some very accomplished programs. She was a member of the provincial champion Lakeshore Soccer U17 AAA team in 2019 and won a Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) championship with Vanier last fall.

She currently plays club soccer with Mont-Royal Outremont in the Première ligue de soccer du Québec.

"I have heard a lot of great things about not only the soccer team but also the school in general," said Lapenna with regards to choosing Concordia. "I wanted to go to a school that would help me grow both as a student and as an individual. I think that Concordia will help me succeed in my goals and help me develop both as a soccer player and as a student."
