Mahalia Robinson of the women's rugby team and Jeremy Murphy of the football team have been named the Concordia Stingers athletes of the week for the period ending Oct. 30, 2022.
Robinson, a third-year fly half, was incredible in Concordia’s hard-fought 34-24 overtime loss to the Carleton Ravens in the RSEQ bronze medal match last Saturday. She scored all 24 points for Concordia. Robinson had two tries and kicked a convert and four penalties. This is her third athlete of the week honour this fall.
A 23-year-old resident of Fulford, Que., Robinson is studying Therapeutic Recreation at Concordia.
Murphy, a veteran wide receiver, caught six passes for 141 yards and a touchdown in a 37-24 loss to the No. 2-ranked Laval Rouge et Or. His touchdown came five minutes into the fourth quarter and narrowed the score to 26-24. He finishes the regular season with 29 catches for 589 yards and two TDs.
The 23-year-old student-athlete from St. Bruno, Que. is in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program at Concordia.
