Stingers dominate RSEQ women's hockey all-star teams

The Concordia Stingers women's hockey team took six of the 12 spots on the RSEQ all-star teams announced by the conference on Wednesday.

Forward Emmy Fecteau and goaltender Alice Philbert were named to the first team. Forwards Émilie Lavoie and Rosalie Bégin-Cyr, and defenders Léonie Philbert and Alexandra-Anne Boyer were named to the second honour roll.

Fecteau, who is in her third year of eligibility, earns her first conference honour. She is the leading scorer on the Stingers with 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points in 23 games. She ranks second in scoring in the Quebec conference and sixth in U Sports.

Alice Philbert earns her second consecutive all-star award. She was named to the second team in 2022. She is the leading goaltender in the league with a goals-against average of 1.56 and a save percentage of .932.

Bégin-Cyr picks up her fourth league award. She was on the RSEQ’s all-rookie team in 2019. She was a second team all-star in 2022 and named to the first team in 2020. She scored nine goals and added 20 assists for 29 points in 23 games this season. She is the third-leading scorer in the conference.

Lavoie receives her second conference honour. She was named to Quebec’s all-rookie team in 2022. She is tied for third place in scoring in the RSEQ with 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points in 25 games.

Léonie Philbert earns her first league honour. She played 25 games, contributing three goals and 13 assists for 16 points.

Finally, Boyer earns her first award in her first year playing in the RSEQ. She played two seasons at University of Connecticut before returning home to St. Constant, Que. and joining the Stingers this season. She has five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 25 games.
