Stingers men's basketball in the RSEQ hunt

Stingers men’s basketball’s 4-2 record has them ranked third in the RSEQ and tied with the second-place Bishop’s Gaiters who have a slight advantage in point differential.

The Stingers are currently on a two-game winning streak in conference play and will look to extend that streak once the second half of the season tips off.

Coach Popovic announced over the holiday break that two more student-athletes were added to the roster, and will begin their Concordia careers in January 2024.

The first is Gabriel Bourdages, a bouncy 6'7" forward from CÉGEP de l'Outaouais, and Ba-Amara Djame, a 6'7" forward who last played for Ontario Tech in the OUA.

Team leaders:

Stingers men’s basketball is full of skilled players who have made quite an impression so far.

Guards Jaheem Joseph and Sami Jahan lead the team in scoring, averaging 15.8 and 15.7 points per game, respectively, as well as in three-point field goals, with 1.3 per game each.

The two guards are ranked third and fourth in the conference in scoring, and are tied for sixth in the RSEQ in three-point field goals made.

Joseph and centre Bradley Louidon lead the Stingers in rebounds, with an average of 7.8 per game.

Louidon is also first in the conference in blocked shots, with an impressive average of two per game. Jahan and guard Alec Phaneuf are third and fourth in the RSEQ in assists, averaging 4.3 per game, and Louidon and Joseph are sixth and seventh in steals with 1.6 and 1.5 per game, respectively.
