Men's hockey split opening weekend in Kingston

Men’s hockey played their season opener on Friday, Oct. 4 at Queen’s where they fell in overtime 2-1 to the Gaels. Forward Isiah Campbell put the Stingers on the board with a powerplay goal in the first period, assisted by Mathieu Bizier and Sean Larochelle. Nikolas Hurtubise got the start in goal and finished with 25 saves on 27 shots.

To round out their road trip to Kingston, men's hockey travelled to RMC on Saturday where they played a dominant game and defeated the Paladins 9-2.

Forward Mathieu Bizier tallied two goals and an assist. Forward Edouard Charron and defenceman Simon Lavigne scored two goals each. Forwards Charles Savoie and Isiah Campbell each had a goal and an assist, and defender Nathan Lavoie scored a goal. Goalie Nikolas Hurtubise secured the win, making 17 saves on 19 shots.

Men’s hockey will have their home opener at the Ed Meagher Arena on Oct. 13 at 3 p.m. where they will face off against the Carleton Ravens.
