Men's Hockey headed to Queen's Cup for first time in program history

Men's hockey swept the Queen's Gaels in two games to book their ticket to Toronto for the OUA finals versus TMU.

Game 1 of the OUA semifinal versus Queen's on March 5 saw the Stingers come-from-behind in the third period and score two quick goals to beat the Gaels 2-1. Sean Larochelle scored to tie the game with less than 3-minutes left in the game, then Nicholas Girouard scored with 50 seconds remaining to give the Stingers the crucial game 1 win.

On Friday, March 7, game 2 was played at Queen's where the Stingers won 1-0 off a first period goal scored by Édouard Charron. Goalie Nikolas Hurtubise made 28 saves for the shutout.

Toronto Metropolitan University beat the University of Toronto in game 3 on the OUA west side of the Queen's Cup bracket. TMU will host the OUA final on March 15 at 6:15 p.m. at the Mattamy Athletic Centre.
