Women's hockey rack up 2 more wins to continue their undefeated streak and remain first in U SPORTS and in the RSEQ with a 10-0 record and 20 points.
The Stingers faced off against the Montréal Carabins at home on Friday, Nov. 22 and came out on top with a final score of 7-2.
Forward Émilie Lussier finished the game with 2 goals and 1 assist. Forwards Zoé Thibault, Jessymaude Drapeau, and defender Camille Richard tallied a goal and 2 assists each. Forwards Émilie Lavoie and Courtney Rice each scored a goal. Goaltender Jordyn Verbeek made 13 saves.
Women’s hockey went to Montréal to face the Carabins again on Sunday, Nov. 24 and shut them out 5-0.
Defender Leah Kosowski tallied 2 goals. Lussier and forward Caroline Moquin-Joubert each contributed a goal and an assist. Forward Alexis Bedier scored a goal and goaltender Arianne Leblanc made all 23 saves for her second shutout this season.
Lussier leads U SPORTS and the RSEQ in goals with 11 goals in 10 games. She also leads the RSEQ in points (16).
Leblanc and Verbeek lead the conference in save percentage (.939 and .933, respectively) and goals-against average (1.5 and 1.2).
The Stingers will be back at home on Friday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. to play the McGill Martlets.
