Men's basketball make statement in win at Bishop's

Men’s basketball beat the Gaiters 80-68 to remain in second in the RSEQ, now with a 4-1 record and 8 points.

Guard Jaheem Joseph led the Stingers with 18 points, also racking up 5 assists, and 2 rebounds. Guard Alec Phaneuf had 16 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 1 steal. Forward Ba-Amara Djame led the team in rebounds, tallying 14 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals.

Women’s basketball fell short and were defeated by the Gaiters by a final score of 84-74. Point guard Kayla Brutus led the team with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist, while centre Serena Tchida put up 12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block.

Women’s basketball also lost against the McGill Martlets on Thursday, Nov. 28, falling 58-48. Shooting Guard Victoria Lawrence led the Stingers with 11 points, 5 steals, and 1 assist.

Stingers basketball will be back at the John Dore Court on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m. for their next doubleheader vs. McGill.
