Men’s basketball find themselves on a 7-game winning streak after sweeping the McGill Redbirds last week.
They are second in the RSEQ with a 7-1 record and 14 points, right behind the Bishop’s Gaiters, who have the same record.
Men’s basketball played at McGill on Thursday and came back home with a 76-54 win. Guard Jaheem Joseph led with 22 points, 8 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists. Guard Junior Mercy was right behind him with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.
Concordia hosted McGill on Saturday, Jan. 18 and dominated, winning by a final score of 94-46. Forward Aurèle Ouellet led the Stingers with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Rookie guard Miguel Doyon-Jeremy also contributed 14 points, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.
Women’s basketball beat the McGill Martlets 64-46 on Saturday after losing to them 69-62 in a close matchup on Thursday.
In Saturday’s game, shooting guard Victoria Lawrence led the Stingers with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 6 steals, and 2 assists. Centre Serena Tchida contributed 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 steal.
Stingers basketball will be back at the Concordia Gym for a doubleheader against UQAM on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 6 p.m.
