Women’s hockey beat the Montréal Carabins 1-0 at home on Sunday, Feb 2 in a thrilling Teddy Bear Toss game that went to double overtime.
After a full 60 minutes of scoreless regulation play, it was captain and forward Caroline Moquin-Joubert who scored the game-winning goal on a breakaway. Goaltender Jordyn Verbeek made all 31 saves for her third shutout of the season.
This puts the Stingers back into the win column after their first loss of the season on Friday, Jan. 31 against the Carabins.
Women’s hockey is ranked first in the RSEQ and second in U SPORTS with a 15-1 record and 30 points.
They will be back on home ice on Friday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. to face off against the Bishop’s Gaiters.
