Women's hockey win big at RSEQ awards

Goaltender Jordyn Verbeek, defender Léonie Philbert, and forwards Jessymaude Drapeau and Émilie Lussier were named to the 2024-25 RSEQ All-Star Team.

Lussier was also named RSEQ MVP, leading the league with 30 points (18 goals and 12 assists) in 20 games. Drapeau won the Leadership Award and was selected for Hockey Canada’s Creating Coaches program due to her involvement in coaching at the youth level.

Head coach Julie Chu was named RSEQ Coach of the Year in women’s hockey. This is her fifth time earning the award.

Verbeek, a fourth-year student in Business Management, finished the regular season leading the RSEQ with a 0.937 sv%, and a 1.154 GAA.

Philbert, a senior doing a Master of Arts in Mathematics and Statistics, led all defenders in the RSEQ with 27 points (4 goals and 23 assists). Philbert also set a new record for assists in a season by a defender with 23, beating her own record from last season.

Drapeau, who’s in her fourth year studying Psychology and Recreation and Leisure Studies, was second in the RSEQ with 29 points (11 goals and 18 assists).
