After sweeping the McGill Martlets in the RSEQ semifinals, women’s hockey will face the Bishop’s Gaiters in the final this week.
The Stingers won Game 1 by a final score of 2-1 at home on Thursday, Feb. 27. Forwards Jessymaude Drapeau and Rosalie Parent scored the Stingers’ two goals. Goaltender Jordyn Verbeek made 18 saves for the win.
Game 2 took place on Saturday, Mar. 1 at Place Bell, with women’s hockey winning again, this time by a final score of 6-1. Forward Megan Bureau-Gagnon scored a hat-trick. Forwards Caroline Moquin-Joubert, Emilie Lavoie, and Emilie Lussier each tallied a goal. Verbeek made 16 saves.
The Stingers will host Game 1 of the RSEQ final against Bishop’s on Thursday, Mar. 6 at 7 p.m. Game 2 will take place at Bishop’s on Saturday, Mar. 8 at 6:30 p.m. If necessary, the teams will be back at the Ed Meagher Arena on Sunday, Mar. 9.
