Women's hockey announce addition of assistant coach Chris Bones

The Stingers are proud to announce the addition of Chris Bones as the team’s new assistant coach.

“I am thrilled to join the Stingers family," said Bones. "There is a positive culture and the passion here is contagious. I am excited to get to work with this team and contribute to something special.”

Bones, from Ottawa, previously served as the head coach of the U18AA Nepean Wildcats, where he gained extensive experience in skill development, team tactics, and program management. His background and coaching style align closely with the Stingers’ philosophy of developing players both on and off the ice.

“I’m happy to announce the addition of Chris Bones as our assistant coach. He brings experience as a head coach, a strong commitment to developing his team and players throughout a season, and a high knowledge of the game with the ability to relay that knowledge effectively. Chris’ passion for the game and his person-centric approach to coaching fit perfectly with our Team First culture. We are excited to have him join our Stingers family,” said Head Coach Julie Chu.

With Bones joining the coaching staff, the Stingers continue to strengthen their focus on player growth, competitive success, and a team-first mentality.

Women's hockey opens up their season on Oct. 17 at Montréal. The home opener takes place on Oct. 24 vs. McGill.
