Stingers Rally to Defeat Carabins 3-2 in Season Opener

The Concordia Stingers women’s hockey team showed grit and resilience on Friday night, storming back from a two-goal deficit to earn a 3–2 comeback win over the Montréal Carabins at CEPSUM.

Montréal opened the scoring early and doubled their lead before the end of the first period, but the Stingers didn’t back down. Ekaterina Pelowich got Concordia on the board to spark the rally at the end of the first, followed by goals from Jessymaude Drapeau in the second and Émilie Lavoie, who netted the game-winner in the third.

Goaltender Jordyn Verbeek was steady in net, turning aside 22 shots to help secure the victory.

The Stingers will look to carry that momentum into their home opener on October 24 when they host McGill at Ed Meagher Arena.
