Stingers women's hockey stay perfect with back-to-back wins over McGill

The Concordia Stingers women’s hockey team remains undefeated at 3-0 after a dominant weekend sweep of the McGill Martlets.

On Friday night at the Ed Meagher Arena, the Stingers rolled to a 5–0 victory. Courtney Rice, Émilie Lavoie, and Émilie Lussier each found the back of the net, while Zoé Thibault added two goals to lead the offence. Goaltender Jordyn Verbeek was solid between the pipes, stopping all 16 shots she faced to record the shutout.

The Stingers carried that momentum into Sunday afternoon’s rematch at McGill, where they blanked the Martlets again with a 2–0 win. Émilie Lussier and Ekaterina Pelowich provided the goals, and Belle Mende earned the shutout with 17 saves in another stellar performance.

With the sweep, the Stingers improve to 3-0 on the season and continue their impressive start. They’ll look to keep it rolling when they host the defending national champion Bishop’s Gaiters on Friday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Ed Meagher Arena, before heading to Lennoxville for a Sunday rematch.
