Stingers blank Carabins twice, clinch first place in the RSEQ

The Concordia Stingers women’s hockey team continued its dominant season with a pair of shutout victories over the Montréal Carabins last week at CEPSUM.

On Friday night, the Stingers earned a 2–0 win behind goals from Rachael McIntyre and Lexy Bedier. Belle Mende got the start in goal and was sharp throughout, stopping all 14 shots she faced to record the shutout.

Concordia followed up with another strong performance on Saturday, blanking the Carabins 3–0. Émilie Lavoie opened the scoring, while Émilie Lussier and Jessymaude Drapeau added insurance goals. Jordyn Verbeek was solid between the pipes, making 19 saves to secure the shutout.

With the two wins, the Stingers improved to 18–1 on the season, clinch first place in the RSEQ, and remain ranked No. 2 in the U SPORTS national rankings.

Concordia returns to action on Thursday with a road game at McGill, before coming back home on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 2 p.m.
