Guillermo Gulli, the Concordia Stingers women’s rugby team scrum coach, presented at the 2009 RMC-Kingston rugby coaching conference at the end of February.
Gulli presented his scrum technique to coaches from across the country from junior to elite level. His unique approach was used by the Concordia women’s team for the last four seasons. It helped the Stingers dominate in the scrum area of the game versus opponents in the Quebec university conference.
For Gulli the conference provided an opportunity to pass along his vast experience – much of it developed in his years as a coach in Argentina.
“I was very excited to be given the chance to present this technique and discuss it with all members of the rugby community,” he said.
The group included Canadian senior men’s coach Kieran Crowley, Peter Steinberg of the Penn State Lady Ruggers (USA national champs) and Gavin Williams, forwards coach from England’s women’s team.
