QB Jordan Maxwell signs LOI with football Stingers

The Concordia Stingers football program is pleased to announce quarterback Jordan Maxwell has signed a letter of intent and will join the football team in August.

He comes to the Stingers from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Ottawa.

The six-foot-four, 190-pound athlete began playing football as a youngster in Montreal with the LaSalle Warriors. At 12 years of age he moved to Dallas, Texas and started playing quarterback.

“Playing high school football in Texas was a great experience,” he said. “I learned the fundamentals of the position and began to excel. I began receiving invitations to attend high profile quarterback camps where I began to be recognized. I've had the opportunity to learn from high caliber coaches who have played and coached in both the NFL and CFL.”

After his Grade 10 year, he returned to Canada and settled in Ottawa. At St. Joseph’s he enjoyed two successful years at quarterback winning a championship in his final season.

He finished his high school career with a combined win-loss record of 14-3 completing 242 of 344 pass attempts (70.3 per cent). He threw for 2700 yards, 33 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also rushed for 948 yards and scored 10 majors.

The highly recruited athlete chose Concordia after careful consideration.

“I had many different universities across Canada to consider attending,” he said. “Ultimately I chose Concordia because of the great overall talent I saw there and because of the place this team is heading. We have the opportunity to do big things here and I would like to be apart of that.”

He plans to study Human Resource Management at the John Molson School of Business and aspires to get a Masters in Business Administration.
