All-Canadian defensive back Kris Robertson was named the MVP of the 2014 Concordia Stingers football team when the players and coaches gathered for their annual banquet on Saturday in Montreal.
A highly-decorated fifth-year athlete from Pickering, Ont., Robertson was also the team’s outstanding player on defence.It was a fitting finish for Robertson who wrapped up his university career with a third all-Canadian honor. He recently signed a free agent contract with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL and will head to camp with the pros shortly.
Another graduating senior, fourth-year receiver Shayne Stinson of Brossard, Que., was named the outstanding offensive player.
