Alexandre Hajjar brings his winning ways to Concordia

Head coach Greg Sutton is pleased to announce Alexandre Hajjar, a talented defender and team captain from the Collège Ahunstic Indiens, has committed to the Concordia Stingers men’s soccer program and will join the team for the 2018 season.

“We’re excited to have Alex join the Stingers,” said Sutton. “He’s going to bring athleticism to the back line. There’s also a leadership component involved in our recruiting him. He brings with him good experience from a winning program at Ahuntsic.

“The future is bright for the Stinger program and Alexandre Hajjar.”

The Laval, Que. native played three seasons of RSEQ college soccer, winning conference championships in 2015 and 2017. The intelligent soccer player decided Concordia was the next step in his progression, a place where he could push himself to develop on and off the field.

“I don’t like to go outside my comfort zone, but I felt Concordia was the best place to try new things,” Hajjar said. “I’m going to study in English for the first time and that will be better for my professional development.

“With soccer, I feel I can develop with coach Sutton and that I’ll have an opportunity to play. Concordia is also very welcoming. It feels like home.”

Hajjar studies Health Sciences at Cégep but is planning to pursue a degree in Accounting at Concordia.
